Welcome to my brand new website.
I’ve been working on this project for a couple years now, it finally has come to fruition. After some flakiness from previous web designers and my own ambitions for it getting in the way, I finally found the perfect design partner: Codex.
I’ve created this website to serve my own needs as someone who doesn’t like to be boxed in to just one label. A lot of my journalism colleagues have portfolio websites that show off their journalistic works for job recruiters. That’s great. But I wanted something that anyone could come to if they wanted to see *all* my work and wouldn’t make them feel like an outsider.
That’s where the “Works” page comes in. As I publish new works–no matter what medium–they will dynamically auto-populate, provide all the information, and show you where to find them. It is intended to be a detailed, permanent archive of all of my work, updated frequently.
I thought of this last year when I was working on some poetry late at night in my room that I published to my Instagram story. Even though it may be cringy now in retrospect, I did not want the way I felt in that moment to be forgotten. So go all the way back into the archives and find something embarrassing I did when I was younger. That’s what it’s here for.
Then on the “Updates” page, I’ll be able to write blog posts and press releases like this one. I frequently work with smaller organizations and collaborator with other up-and-comers who have no chops for promoting their own work. This will allow me a place to give all the details about our work to media and make it easy to promote/get the word out. No more copy-pasting to Facebook, X, or any other social media outlets and tweaking. All the firm details can live right here.
Salvador Dali once said, “The most important in my life, more [than being] a clown, more [than] painting, more [than] my draftsmanship, is my personality… everything is only one manner for express[ing] the total personality of Dali.”
Each piece of my work, no matter the medium, is just one fragment of the window into my soul. Hopefully, you can put all the fragments together here.
